the Ernestina and the Spirit of Massachusetts

These links all need to be updated.  Sorry.
These are the boats I sail and you can too.  There are links to my favorite boats and links to help you find a boat in your nieghborhood.

Most boats will take you for a ride for $25-$50 a head (more for overnights) and dockside tours are sometimes free.  If you wanna try this first hand, volunteer, they are willing to train new guys. To find a tallship in your area (or the town you'll next vacation to) try this site,  if you want a job or a volunteer position, click on their Billet Blank page.

The Chieftain is my first tallship and a great bunch of folks.  They get all over the coast of California and do a lot of work with kids as well as battle sails with other boats.  You can call them at (415) 331-3214

The Lady Washinton is a replica of the colonial era brig that was the first American vessel to round Cape Horn and explore the West Coast in search of the Northwest Passage.   She is one of the most accurate replicas on the west coast and has a strong volunteer backing.  Look for her in Disney's upcoming Pirates Of The Carribean movie.  Their phone number is 1 800 200 lady.  Easy to remember.

The Ernestina is not a replica but a hundred+ year old Grand Banks fishing schooner.  State funding cuts have put her in danger of being mothballed and she needs your help.  go to this site to find out how.

the Lynx

This was my ride to Hawaii, and there's rumors of a trip to Tahiti this year.  She's a replica of a privateer schooner from the war of 1812, a very fast and fun boat to sail and a comfortable boat to live on.

This is another hundred+ year old boat.  She's an engineer's dream with a beautiful live steam engine.  If you're in the Twin Cities area, this is a great way to spend an afternoon and one of the stops has a hot dot stand.
